HOW I GOT HERE

This is my Story

At 60, I had become undone.

My last sibling had passed and I had never felt

more alone or lost in my life.

Having lost both parents and

3 siblings all younger then I.

My story was of loss and sadness.

I lived in the same place my whole life,

surrounded by people who new my story.

People felt sorry for me. I was the one people

looked at with sympathy. The one whose family

had been lost piece by piece.

The one people quietly labeled...

"the poor thing."

And without even realizing it, I started to believe

that was who I was.

Stuck in a version of me shaped by loss...

not possibility.
